Does benchmarking increase the value of your company?
One of the first few questions an entrepreneur selling his company asks himself is: “How much is my company worth and how can I increase the value of my company?”
Last December, the Dutch “Software VOC” – a division of ICT Office – organized a session in Woerden about benchmarking for a software company. How can a CEO of a software house establish whether its performing well?
The most obvious indicator is of course the Earnings Before Interest and Taxes, EBIT percentage that your company realizes. Or what percentage of sales are recurring. However, there are many more KPIs to denominate.
Charles Heijink of Agro Vision presented the Key Performance Indicators, KPIs that were relevant for his company. He showcased his strong need for the KPIs by using them for similar software houses. He called to a kind of joint initiative with the support of ICT Office. Recommendable.
